Max Einhorn, Vice President, AcquisitionsMax Einhorn, VP, ACQUISITIONS, is a cinephile with a diverse background in film criticism, development, exhibition and distribution. His FilmRise career began in the distribution department when the company was still in its infancy.
Max oversees the acquisition machine where he regularly reviews vast assortments of movies, television shows, documentaries and special interest content. He also works closely with CFO Goetz Grossmann in identifying and establishing new strategic partnerships for the company. Key recent acquisitions include the David Oyelowo starrer FIVE NIGHTS IN MAINE, New York Film Festival favorite THE WITNESS, Chinese box office titan MONSTER HUNT and the extremely successful JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE.
Previously, Max was the Director of Development for Island Bound Productions, the production company of executive producer and writer/director Henry Pincus (THE ART OF GETTING BY) where he oversaw the development of numerous projects.
After graduating from Temple University with a degree in Film Production, he began his career at Likely-Story (BEGIN AGAIN, FOXCATCHER) working in development under indie power-producers Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu.
After graduating from college, Max worked with his father to save the cinema in his hometown of Middletown, Pennsylvania, which was dangerously close to failing in the wake of the industry-wide conversion to digital projection. Along with Dan Santelli, the trio reinvigorated support for the local theater, which remains a community staple.
Greg Nelson, Acquisitions Director
Greg has over a decade of experience in media production, programming and distribution, having served as both programming manager and director of New Media & Distribution at Odyssey Networks in New York City.
At Odyssey (formerly Odyssey Channel), Greg was part of the development team for series, docudramas and movies that ran on networks such as the BBC in the UK and Hallmark Channel in the US. Greg oversaw hundreds of hours of network programming, regularly acquiring documentary and holiday content while also licensing Odyssey programming to both foreign and domestic media outlets.
Greg is a graduate of The University of Iowa, having also studied at The University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Dan Santelli, Acquisitions Coordinator
Dan is responsible for monitoring the execution of daily acquisitions workflow.
After graduating from Temple University, where he studied Film and the Media Arts, Dan worked as a freelance PA on productions including the TLC hit “Breaking Amish.”
He managed a 35mm repertory film series for Middletown’s Elks Theatre – one of the oldest continually operating movie theaters in the country. In addition, he has produced several short films while working at Ardmore, PA’s Viva Video.
Dan is a true cinemaphile, watching as many as 400 films a year. His favorite book is “One Hundred Years of Solitude,” and he considers the movie “Sleepaway Camp” a masterpiece.
