June 21, 2016 — Addicted to Fresno boasts a remarkable cast of comic actors.
Judy Greer, (The Hebrew Hammer, Ant Man), Natasha Lyonne (American Pie, Orange Is the New Black), Ron Livingston (Swingers, The Time Traveler’s Wife), Aubrey Plaza (About Alex, Parks and Recreation) Fred Armisen (Portlandia), Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live), Allison Tolman (Fargo) and Clea DuVall (American Horror Story) — combine their distinctive comic sensibilities in an off-kilter comedy you definitely have not seen before.
Judy Greer (Shannon) and Natascha Lyonne (Martha) play sisters; Martha has a job in a small hotel in Fresno. Shannon is a sex addict who recently lost her job. She convinces her sister to get her a job at the Fresno hotel. But things get off to a seriously rocky start when Shannon manages to kill of one of the guests and convinces Martha to help her get rid of the body.
What could possibly go wrong?
Aaron Hillis of The Village Voice called the film “Consistently frickin’ hilarious. Perfect cast.”
The Epoch Times called it an “…absurdly sweet, kooky, and dark sister comedy…the film female ensemble you root for.”
And Flavorwire asserted “As a performer’s showcase, it’s hard to beat. Judy Greer and Natasha Lyonne anchor it with a priceless good sister/bad sister dynamic; Lyonne is atypically sunny (and typically delightful) while Greer, as a bitter burnout, puts a sharp little spin on every line, turning each into a little dagger.”
Available on DOD and Blu-ray.
