BBC Miniseries “Run” Depicts Lives Of Moral Ambiguity, Where Choice Is A Luxury

August 2, 2017 — Choice is often a luxury. That’s what the people of Run learn, not always to their benefit.

In this four part BBC series of Run, the lives of four seemingly random people are determined by the choices they make. They are people who are just scraping by. One decision, either way, will affect their life. One wrong decision can ruin everything.

This four-part miniseries pins a spotlight on the plight of inner-city denizens who are just getting by — without any fallback position. Their lives are frequently just outside of the law; this gritty, hard-hitting 4-part mini-series about life in a council house estate (government-run projects) in a depressed area of a British city does not pull any punches. These are lives of despair, anger and moral ambiguity.

An acting tour-de-force, Run stars Olivia Colman, Katie Leung, Katharina Schüttler, Jaime Winstone and Lennie James.
