October 25, 2016 — Of course, she had been acting in movies since she was 9 years old. but Scarlett Johansson was not a household name — and certainly not yet an A-lister — when she starred in the delightful comedy, My Brother the Pig.

In it she plays Kathy, a young girl whose brother George (played by Nick Fuoco (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), magically transforms into a pig while their parents are away in Paris.

With the help of their housekeeper Matilda — played by Eva Mendes (2 Fast 2 Furious, Hitch), in one of her earliest film roles — and George’s best friend Freud (Alex D. Linz, One Fine Day), Kathy and George try to gather together the ingredients they will need for a magic spell to turn George back into a boy before their parents return.

This involves a trip to Mexico, where Matilda’s grandmother, Berta, will attempt to deliver George from his pig-ishness.

Of course, there are pitfalls along the way. At one point Freud loses the pig George to a butcher who becomes exceedingly angry when a rescue team retrieves George the pig.

Kathy and friends reverse — almost — the act of magic that transformed George. But as successful as their efforts are, George could just be left with a reminder of his days as a pig.

This PG romp also stars Judge Reinhold as the father, and Piggy as the George the Pig.

Youngsters will fall for the freewheeling romp, and grown-ups will enjoy watching two world-class beauties before they became household names.
