Eagerly Anticipated Horror Film “Dead Awake” Opens Today

May 12, 2017 — The worst thing about sleep paralysis is that it’s real.

The phenomenon results in a half-awake state in which the sufferer’s mind is clear and active, but their body is paralyzed so that they cannot respond physically to any stimulus.

No matter how frightening.

Written by Jeffrey Reddick, one of the creators of the Final Destination franchise, Dead Awake is a horror/thriller about a young woman whose nightmares are accompanied by bouts of sleep paralysis — during which she feels that something is trying to strangle her.

Is she delusional?

Her estranged twin sister must try to help solve the riddle.

A tribute to Wes Craven, Dead Awake stars Lori Petty (Orange is the New Black), Jocelin Donahue (House of the Devil) as the troubled twins and Jesse Bradford (Flags of Our Fathers) as the artist in love with one (or both) of the sisters.
