December, 10 2015 — Tonight is your chance to own a piece of history.

RM Sotheby’s is hosting its “Driven by Disruption” sale Thursday evening, featuring an array of famous cards from a Roy Rogers-owned 1963 Pontiac – estimated to be sold near $75,000 – and Janis Joplin’s famous psychedelic Porsche.

The grand total for the Me and Bobby McGee singer’s former whip could exceed $600,000, bringing in a hefty sum for Joplin’s family, who intends to use the proceeds for charity.

Janis has been receiving major media attention lately, with Amy Berg’s documentary Janis: Little Girl Blue receiving positive reviews as it entered commercial theaters this month.

Additional cars from the auction include legendary Formula One racer Juan Manuel’s 1956 Ferrari 290MM, which could soar as high as $30 million at tonight’s auction.  The car was featured in the famous race until 1964, avoiding a single crash in its racing career.

Nudie Cohn’s 1963 Pontiac Bonneville will also make an appearance, possibly giving its new owner a heavy dent of $350,000.
