The BBC Drama “The Ambassador” Stars Award-Winning Actress Pauline Collins

June 26, 2017 —  This may be more timely than ever.

Academy Award®-nominee Pauline Collins stars as Harriet Smith, the new British Ambassador to Ireland in this 12-part series first shown on British television.

Her job is difficult, time consuming and unnerving. It takes a toll on her personal life, it is demanding, occasionally threatening (for herself and those she cares about) and pits ethics against politics.

The issues it brings up are often those we are dealing with today.

Pauline Collins — who first cams to public attention in the BBC production of Upstairs Downstairs — has since won BAFTA, Tony and Drama Desk awards for her role in Shirley Valentine.

The Ambassador was first seen on the BBC in 1999.

Stream the entire two series of The Ambassador on Amazon Prime.
