‘The Precinct’ is Azerbaijan’s Oscar contender for Best Foreign Language Film.
Garib, a famous photographer who specializes in provocative photos of female nudes, has to choose between accepting a valuable job offer in Africa and marrying his fiancée – a young, talented sculptor named Sabina. He accepts the offer, postpones the wedding, and during the ensuing quarrel the couple has a serious car accident. Following the fiery crash, they are rescued by the police and taken to the local precinct for questioning. However, when the police chief reveals his knowledge of many intimate details of Garib’s childhood, it is clear that this is no ordinary police station. Garib must come to terms with the secrets of his past or he will not leave the precinct alive.
Mixing nightmarish stylization and naturalism, this psychological drama meets erotic thriller should not be missed!
