A school bus crash kills more than a dozen children from a small Canadian community. A lawyer from a big city arrives to help the survivors prepare a class-action suit, but his efforts seem to make the suffering of the locals even more severe. Meanwhile, one young girl who was paralyzed in the crash needs to cope with both injury and the loss of innocence in this award-winning film by Atom Egoyan.
